Well, the honeymoon has started, the families are returning home (all over the world!) and EVERYONE had a blast. It was a superb wedding, a great success and a tremendous testimony to the planning that the bride and groom put into it.

But it is also a testament to the professionals that worked hard to execute the bride's vision:

Venue: Belle Mer
Florals: Kim from GreenLion, in Tiverton
DJ: Johnny and Wayne from Select Sound
Photography: well, me and every single guest! Congratulations to Haru and Ivo and their wonderful families. It was a magical day.

Next up: Melissa and Jordan!

Twas the Night...

Twas the night 'fore the wedding
And all through my
house
Not a trackpad was stirring
(I still use a mouse...)

The cameras ready,
Date/times all in synch
The batteries all charged with
Flashes that blink.

Formatted cards all lined
In a row
I cleaned all the lenses,
I'm sure it's a go.

Lists, names and numbers
Entrusted to notes:
Family, bridesmaids and
And all of their blokes

Rehearsal's tomorrow
And sure to be fun.
With forecasts of blue skies
And plenty of sun.

The big day will follow
Emotion galore...
Haru and Ivo
And forty eight more.

To capture this day
A privilege each time.
Love in a viewfinder
Is always sublime.

So here's to the venue,
The family and guests
The vendors and helpers
and everyone stressed.

One thing is sure
and that we all know.
They both love each other
And tears will a flow.

But I'll bet you now
That mostly we'll see
Smiles, grins and laughter
And joy set a free...

Haru and Ivo, may your lives be rich, blessed and full. DAJ

Planes, proms and iPads...

Technology has it's own rewards. This evening, as I flew from Providence to Washington, I was reviewing my portfolio on the iPad. As we started the descent, my lovely seat-mate, Dawn, commented on the photos and asked if I did Senior portraits (Mai oui!). We quickly ran through this weekend's prom photos and she asked for my card. It proved to me yet again that this IS a different device--and a superb way of sharing imagery. Photographs just pop on the screen and you can leaf through them so intuitively it is better than either prints or a notebook computer. So Dawn, I hope to hear from you and enjoyed our chat thoroughly; Chris & Hadley, your prom was a blast!

Details

So much goes into a wedding--and in most cases, every detail has been planned, labored over and executed with excruciating exactitude...and love, sometimes for years. It all makes the day so special.

Mother's Day tomorrow!

Hey tomorrow is Mother's Day! Did you remember? As of this posting, not too late!

Short video to say hi to my Mom. Love you! Be well.

Watching and dreaming

This little girl was wide-eyed throughout the wedding day. You could almost see her starting to plan...adorable.
